His Holiness Swami Satyananda was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on the 28th of September 1970. He received his first initiation on August 1994, making him one of the most senior disciples of Swami Ramakrishnananda. Swami Satyananda is a brilliant teacher of Hatha Yoga, and is highly knowledgeable in Vedic religion. He is an official translator of Gurudev's books into Russian. Swamiji is highly respected by all the disciples in the organization for his devotion and spirit of selfless service.
